Hardwood Services Offered
Hardwood Floor Refinishing- Refinishing is our number one service and with good reason. Some people decide that they would like to refinish their old floors on their own. While some people are able to get away with doing so, it is definitely not something that we recommend unless you have someone with at least a moderate amount of experience that is willing to help you along your way. Some of the big box stores will even rent you a floor sander. Something to keep in mind though is that the sanders that these guys will rent you are almost incomparable to the heavy duty sanders that a true professional will use when refinishing wood flooring. Even when using the less powerful floor sander it really only takes a second of neglect and you will be dealing with a large dip in the middle of your floor. The most common mistake that is made by the weekend warrior is an uneven sanding job. This might look okay when the lights are out but when the sun is shining it becomes blatantly obvious that the job was done by someone less than a professional. We do not mention all of this to try and scare you. We truly do not want you to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on all of your material and end up with a sub-par job. You really do not have anything to lose to at least give us a call for a free quote. We offer refinishing that starts at just $2.00 per square foot. Obviously, depending on what type of finish you want or need the price will vary greatly but the quote is free so what are you waiting for?

Floors that are improperly installed can buckle and warp over time and can also leave large gaps between the planks. The worst part about that issue is that you will not notice any problem when the initial install is completed. It could take a few weeks or a few months but eventually you will start to see the problems. This usually happens when there is a change in air temperature which causes the wood to expand and contract. When the contractor does not leave enough of an expansion gap between the floor and the wall, the wood does not have anywhere to go so it starts to buckle. Don't spend thousands on a new floor and cheap out on the installation. I assure you that it will not be worth it in the long run. Our motto is "functional floors at an affordable price".

When you start to make a decision it is always best to test the stain on the same species of hardwood that you plan on installing or already have installed. Using an actual piece of flooring to test will give you a much better idea of what the finish product will look like since you can move the test board anywhere in the room to see how it compliments other elements and colors in the room.
2. Wood Variation
Keep in mind that part of the allure of wood flooring is the uniqueness and variation that makes no two boards exactly the same. While the appearance can most definitely vary greatly depending on the species, grade and color choice, all species will inherently have there own finger print that makes them one of a kind. Sometimes the natural color of a piece of wood can be vastly different even when it is the same species of tree. We view this as a good thing but some people prefer a more constant pattern. If you like a less variegated floor be sure to discuss this with your installer or supplier to decide which species and grade might be best for you.

Four Reasons To Choose Hardwood
Easy Cleaning- One of the biggest pros when installing hardwood flooring is that it is a much more sanitary option when comparing to other types of floor coverings. Carpet for instance is a well known germ trap that soaks up microbes, bacteria and other harmful debris. Even vacuuming on a daily basis is not enough to keep the carpet clean and germ free. That means you can also update your existing floor to better suite your new decor. Refinishing is usually only required every 8-12 years. Depending on the quality of your carpet, you would need to replace it 3-5 times in that same time period.
